Tax the Rich? Hell, Eliminate All Deductions and Tax Everyone!
Vocal Woke NY Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now under investigation by the House Ethics Panel for her Met Gala appearance in a beautiful white dress displaying “TAX THE RICH” in bright red hand painted lettering. Perhaps she is unaware that the rich already pay over 50% of all taxes. I have a suggestion. Why don’t we eliminate ALL deductions and tax everyone at the same rate? If the federal rate were set at 10%, the state rate at 2% and the local rate at 3%, NO ONE would be able to avoid paying taxes – not even those on public assistance! The poor can then become more aware and, hopefully, responsible and we’ll all truly understand that “there is no free lunch!” Indeed, as the old proverb states, “the rich need to learn how the poor live and the poor need to learn how the rich work!”
